JOGT News Vol. 7 No. 3 — Our first video

Two items that couldn’t wait, including our first video!

A note from the chair

This is just a quick note because I wanted you to see our new video at the same time as it’s released on youtube and facebook. Here it is:

Also, there continue to be big changes at John o’ Groats. Last newsletter, we had a photo of the new path there. Now a gateway arch has been installed, sponsored by the John o’ Groats Brewery, the JOG Development Trust, and our own trustee and volunteer Charlie Bain. (Photo below.) As we come out of Covid restrictions, we hope to have an opening ceremony in the near future.

Happy Trails!

Trail walker’s update

Many walkers have been on the trail this Spring, and many more are planning on walking. The bracken will start to grow high by mid-June. Volunteers are needed to walk the trail and trod or cut bracken before it gets too high, and all walkers are welcome to help with this. Get in touch before or during your walk to find out more details.

Volunteer corner

Volunteers are always welcome. This time of year, the biggest need is for people to walk the trail and help keep down the bracken and other vegetation, especially on stages 7, 8, 9, 11 and 14. Contact us for more details.
